Frequently asked questions

What does this course cover?

The course covers the training need set out in the Norwegian ASH regulations (working environment, safety and health for people working on board ships), with particular attention to § 5-14. It is based on the textbook, presentation and exam developed by Vessel Plus AS.

How long does it take?

Most people spend three to five hours in total. You can come and go as you like — your progress is saved automatically.

What do I need to pass?

The final exam has 20 questions and you need at least 80 % correct (16 out of 20). You can retake the exam if you do not pass.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. When you pass you get a certificate with a unique serial number that a shipping company or inspector can verify.

Can I take the course in English?

Yes. The whole course exists in Norwegian and English, and you can switch language at any point — including mid-course.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The course is built to read just as well on a phone on board as on a desktop in the office.
